17/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last week, delegates from the European Union's Military Committee visited SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe), located near Mons/Belgium, "to witness the close cooperation that has been established between NATO and the EU at SHAPE", a NATO press release states. German Admiral Rainer Feist, who is both the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) and the Operational Commander of the EU mission in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, hosted the visitors led by Finnish General Gustav Hägglund, Chairman of the EU Military Committee. "We now share the facilities and capabilities of this headquarters and, as you have seen, the flags of NATO and EU fly side by side above our main entrance", Admiral Feist said. "The cooperation and strategic partnership we have established our indeed landmark decision", he affirmed.
