21/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - CDU member Christoph Konrad MEP has asked the EP Economic and Monetary Committee to draft a report on the familiarity of Europeans with euro banknotes and coins, noting that, after one year of the single currency being in circulation, over 90% of the population are now at ease with the banknotes, but only 70% with the coins. Mr. Konrad returned to his proposal of introducing banknotes of one and two euro.
