P&O and Carnival (cruisers) forced to re-notify agreement

Brussels, 07/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Through its spokeswoman Amelia Torres on Monday, the European Commission confirmed that it had again to decide on the P&O Princess/Carnival operation. Last July, the Commission gave its go-ahead, following an in-depth enquiry, to a bid for P&O by its rival Carnival, whereas at the same time a merger between P&O and Royal Caribbean was being negotiated. However, end-October, Royal Caribbean dropped the plan and the agreement between P&O and Carnival...
