21/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has announced that a consortium of 15 research teams, from 7 European countries, has participated in the definition of best practice to limit the transmission of HIV. These recommendations concern, notably, pre-natal transmission: - HIV tests for pregnant women; - adapted treatment for HIV-positive women in pregnancy; - delivery through caesarean section; - treatment of babies at birth.
