15/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - European experts and associations in the Family and Child Protection Intergroup at the European Parliament held a meeting in Strasbourg on 6 February on crime and the role of the family, on the initiative of the President of the Intergroup, Marie-Thérèse Hermange (EPP-ED, France). After the meeting the MEP announced that a regular series of conference would be launched on this subject throughout Europe in order to study the impact on juvenile crime of factors such as poverty, emotional immaturity and trauma experienced in early childhood.
