31/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - French Green MEP Alima Boumediene-Thiry and the Syndicat de la magistrature have both been awarded the Voltaire Prize for citizenship for defending fundamental rights and civil liberties. The Voltaire Prize is awarded in France and other European countries by a French jury of journalists, lawyers and NGO representatives who meet at international level in a body that also awards the Big Brother Awards (the name comes from George Orwell's novel "1984") to...
