ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

The Dutch group ABN AMRO has acquired a stake between 11 and 13% in the Italian bank ANTONVENETA, the seventh Italian bank in terms of balance sheet total (that is, 83 billion lira), with 1.5 million clients, 11,000 employed and 963 offices. The bank has invested between EUR 600 and 700 million in the operation.
