Brussels, 06/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - The economic confidence indicator again fell in the euro zone, to 100.6 points in July, from 101.1 points in June, representing a drop of 0.5 points, according to figures the Commission published on Thursday. In the Europe of the Fifteen, this index fell to 101.1 points, a drop of 0.6 points. This is the index's seventh consecutive fall, which reached a peak of 104.6 points in the second quarter of 200 in the euro zone. Denmark is the only country to record an increase (+0.4%), whereas Italy and the United Kingdom remained at the same level than the previous month. The steepest falls were recorded in Ireland and Finland (-0.9 and -0.8, respectively), followed by Greece, Austria and Sweden (-0.6).
