British GLAXOSMITHKLINE (turnover £5.12 billion during the second quarter 2001) and Japanese SHIONOGI (turnover equivalent to EUR 3.8 billion in 2000) have announced the creation of a joint venture in Europe and in the United States that they will hold equally, for the joint development and marketing of treatments against AIDS and neurological diseases. The financial arrangements of this operation have not been disclosed.
