17/07/2001 (Agence Europe) - A Commission spokesman answered questions on Tuesday on the programme presented by Italian Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti. He pointed out that, according to Commissioner Pedro Solbes, this was an ambitious programme, but that it was necessary to maintain the "realism" required. The Commission awaits presentation of the Italian economic and financial programming document (DPEF) this autumn, he said (see EUROPE of 14 July, p.6).
