The American food group SARA LEE is to buy the bakery product specialist in the United States and Europe EARTHGRAINS for $1.7 bn in cash. SARA LEE is offering $40.25 a share. Through this purchase, SARA LEE will more than quadruple its turnover in bakery products with $3.4 bn.
