ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The Swiss chemist CLARIANT sold its polyvinyl alcohol and butyl alcohol division to the Japanese KYRARAY. The financial details of the operation have not been disclosed. CLARIANT recorded a turnover of around CHF 200 million in 2000 and employs 250 people in Germany in this sector.
