The Spanish PROSEGUR paid EUR 268 million to acquire the Brazilian group JUNCAVELLA (turnover of EUR 468 million in 2000 with 23,500 people and a fleet of 1,700 armoured security vans) from MERRYLL LYNCH and SOUTHERN CROSS. This operation will enable it to become the largest in the sector of security and guards in Latin America with an annual turnover of EUR 1.1 billion against 680 million previously.
