05/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The British government freed a subsidy of EUR 2.5 billion (GBP 1.5 billion) for Railtrack, in order to allow the railway company to modernise its rail network. In exchange, a Director responsible for public interest will sit on the Railtrack Board.
