British ABBEY NATIONAL has sold its credit card services to the American bank MBNA, for the sum of £289 million. According to the terms of the agreement, MBNA will develop and manage a new range of credit cards under the ABBEY NATIONAL name. In return, the latter will receive a commission on each card sold as well as part of the receipts made.
