Brussels, 16/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EU's High Representative for Cfsp, Javier Solana met Croatian Foreign Minister, Tonino Picula in Brussels on Thursday, whom he thanked for the constructive attitude of the Croatian Government regarding the unilateral action by the "so-called Croat National Congress of Bosnia-Herzegovina" (see EUROPE of 8 March, p.6, for the EU's condemnation of these unilateral initiatives).
"The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina can only move towards Europe in the framework of a unified State. Illegal or unconstitutional actions will not be tolerated. The constitutional framework has to be respected", Solana reiterated after his meeting. And, regarding the upcoming meeting of the Croatian National Council in Jajce, he declared: "we hope that moderates who share our values and principles will act accordingly. Those who are pushing Bosnian Croats out of the constitutional framework are taking the legitimate concerns of their people hostage to further their own personal agenda".
