ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

The Spanish group FERROATLANTICA has decided not to up the stakes of its bid for the Spanish electrical company HIDROCANTABRICO. Following the announcement by FERROATLANTICA that it was upping its stake from 19 to 25.8 euro a share, the stock market authorities made it take its bid to 100% of the shares and not 60% as proposed. Two rival bidders now remain, Portugal's EDP and Germany's RWE. See inter alia EI of 8 February.
