14/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has launched negotiations aimed at accession by the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The decision, taken just before the weekend, to establish a working group in order to continue the process, was welcomed by the organisation's director general as a "very strong signal of the importance of trade in bringing peace and stability to troubled regions of the world".
