The Italian company RINA - REGISTRO ITALIANO NAVALE (annual turnover FF 470 million with 55 offices) will be taken over by the French group BUREAU VERITAS (turnover around FF 5.8 billion with 550 offices). According to the agreement, the latter will hold a stake of 49% in RINA's maritime business and 51% in its industry and certification department.
