24/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - Human Rights Watch considers there is no reason to restore voting rights to the Russian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The humanitarian organisation calls on the Assembly to maintain the suspension of the voting rights and calls on the Committee of Ministers to open a procedure aimed at suspending Russia from the Council of Europe. In an eight-page memorandum, it speaks of the persistence of human rights violations...
