Britain's BLUE CIRCLE has accepted the offer of France's LAFARGE, having turned it down in the spring. LAFARGE will, taking account of the British firm's debts, pay a total of 7.4 bn euro for the operation that will enable it to become the world's foremost cement manufacturer with a production capacity in the region of 150 million tonnes.
