Brussels, 13/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the financing of 13 projects in the context of the cooperation programme between the Union and the United States in the field of higher education and training. This "2000 selection", which is the result of a procedure jointly managed by the European and US authorities, brings the current programme for the promotion of transatlantic student exchanges to a close. The 13 projects selected involve 46 universities and training centres, mainly in France (8), Italy (8) and Germany. Just over 800 American and European students will take part in these programmes for "transatlantic mobility" over the next three years. The programmes cover themes such as architecture, textile engineering and electronic commerce.
