ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

CIBA SPECIALITES CHIMIQUES will be selling 39% of the capital of the American aeronautics equipment specialist HEXCEL (turnover of USD 1.15 billion in 1999) to the merchant bank GOLDMAN SACHS for USD 160 million. CIBA SPECIALITES CHIMIQUES is studying the possibility of divesting itself of the 10% it still owns in the firm.
