New York, 28/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, is to meet the President-in-Office of the EU Council, Hubert Vedrine in Paris on 4 October (you may recall that, when participating in the work of the UN General Assembly in New York, the latter had raised the issue of closer coordination between the United Nations and the European Union regarding peacekeeping). On 5 October, Mr. Annan will have talks in Brussels, with the High Representative for Cfsp, Javier Solana and NATO Secretary General Lord Robertson (and the NATO Council at ambassadorial level). Previously, on 3 October, Mr. Annan will be at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, where he will have talks with the Committee of Ministers (at ambassadorial level), the Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly, Lord Russell-Johnston, and Secretary General Walter Schwimmer.
