ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

ONI, the telecommunications branch of EDP - ELECTRICIDADE DE PORTUGAL, has acquired, for EUR 100 million, 11% of the capital of GRAPES, an Italian supplier of telecom services. GRAPES, for its part, acquires 2% in ONYWAY, a consortium applying for one of the four licenses in UMTS mobile telephony in Portugal, a consortium headed by ONI.
