Brussels, 11/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - The representatives of the Member States nominated eight Judges and four Advocates General to the Court of Justice of the European Communities, selected for a six year renewable mandate, will start their duties on 7 October, at the end of the mandate for those currently holding these twelve positions.
The nominated Judges are: Ninon Colneric (Judge at the Court since 15 July 2000), Jose Narciso Da Cunha Rodrigues, David A.O. Edward (Judge at the Court since 10 March 1992), Peter Jann (Judge at the Court since 19 January 1995), Antonio Mario La Pergola (Judge at the Court since 15 December 19999), Jean-Pierre Puissochet (for a second mandate of six years), Christiaan W.A. Timmermans, Stig Von Bahr. Nominated as Advocates General are: L.A. Geehoed, Philippe Leger (for a second six year mandate), Christine Stix-Hackl, Antonio Tizzano. The nominating decision was published in the Official Journal L 199 of 5 August, p.81.
The Court is made up of fifteen Judges and nine Advocates General. It President is, since 7 October 1994, Gil Carlos Rodriguez Inglesias.
