ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The Dutch chemical and pharmaceutical group DSM acquired the American pharmaceutical group CATALYCA PHARMACEUTICALS (turnover of USD 420 million in 1999) for a total amount of USD 800 million before tax. This operation will enable DSM to increase its turnover in the life sciences sector to EUR 2.2 billion.
