Brussels, 06/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted regulatory clearance to the creation of a joint-venture between the Swedish forestry company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) and Graninge. Called Scaninge Timber, this company will pool all the activities of Graninge and a part of those of SCA in the forestry and sawmill operations. The Commission's investigation demonstrated that the accumulated market shares held by these companies on the market in question, i.e., those for timber and forest-fuel in Sweden and sawn timber in the European Economic Area, were low and there was no vertical links. The Community executive thus raised no objections.
