GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/commission

25/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission's Breydel buildings were evacuated on Thursday morning owing to a false bomb alert. The presence of a suspect briefcase triggered the evacuation. The security services later determined that it contained nothing but papers. The Commission officials were able to return to their offices after around an hour.
