Brussels, 25/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission adopted on Wednesday a regulation clarifying the publicity measures that must be taken in Member States in relation to Community Structural Fund interventions. Member States will have to submit a "Communication Plan" with the draft multi-annual proposal (framework of programming document or Community Support Framework). They must appoint a responsible authority -if possible at national level, and in any case working with regional management officials- charged with follow-up and co-ordination of information actions. The regulation also provides that billboards -followed later by commemorative plaques- must be placed on every site concerned, mentioning European participation in the project.
