ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) materials

The French group IMERSYS (642 million euro turnover in the first quarter 2000), specialised in industrial minerals, has announced the purchase of the Austrian firm TREIBACHER SCHLEIFMITTEL (200 million euro turnover in 1999 with a workforce of 800), the world's foremost producer of corundum, minerals for the abrasives industry. The cost of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
