ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) automobile

The British consortium PHOENIX has paid the German firm BMW a symbolic £10 for the British automobile manufacturer ROVER. To ensure the success of the operation, PHOENIX has a credit line of £200 million granted by BURDA FINANCIAL, British subsidiary of the American bank FIRST UNION, together with a refundable loan from BMW of £500 million to cover restructuring costs and the payment of pensions.
