The French banking group BNP-PARIBAS is to group the insurance activities of its subsidiaries CARDIF, NATIO-VIE and NATIO-ASSURANCES. CARDIF and NATIO-VIE are life insurance firms with a pro forma turnover of over FF 50 billion in 1999 with 320 billion FF in managed assets. NATIO-ASSURANCES, a 50/50 joint venture between AXA and BNP, insures material assets (non-life) and made a turnover of FF 298 million in 1999. The new entity will be called METIER ASSURANCES.
