In the United States, IMS HEALTH (market survey and polls for the pharmaceutical industry) is to merge with the American firm TRIZETTO ($32.9 million turnover in 1999), a specialist in Internet applications and sites in the world of health. The operation, costing $8.1 bn, will take the form of IMS being taken over by its compatriot. The new group will be controlled to the tune of 88% by TRIZETTO shareholders and employ 9,000 people in over 100 countries.
