30/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - In his speech to the conference at the Palace d'Egmont on the convergence of European defence (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.4) Lord Robertson said, with regard to CFSP that "NATO will take into account the EU's needs in establishing its defence plans." He asserted that to avoid double jobs, the alliance believes that the EU Member States should use "as much as possible the defence planning procedures."
