The Anglo-American group UNILEVER is in talks with the American ice cream manufacturer BEN & JERRY ($237 million turnover in 1999) in which it would like to hold 28% of the capital for $38 a share. MEADOWBROOK LANE CAPITAL will, under the same conditions, obtain 36% of the capital, the remaining 36% being retained by Ben Cohen, one of the company's two founders.
