The Spanish Group CASER (turnover of EUR 486 million in 1999), controlled by 38 Spanish building societies, concluded a strategic alliance with the French insurer MAAF-MMA. According to the agreement, CASER will bring its automotive activities to MAAF SEGUROS, Spanish subsidiary of MAAF-MMA, in exchange for a stake of between 51 and 60% in this company. At the same time the two partners will continue with cross share exchanges according to which MAAF will take between 20 and 30% of CASER's...
