ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) tyres

Italian group PIRELLI (cables and tyres) is to acquire the "electric cables" activities of BICCGENERAL (turnover EUR 700 million in 1999 with 3,500 employed in 11 sites in the United Kingdom, Italy, Africa and Asia), controlled by American GENERAL CABLE, for the sum of around EUR 371.9 million.
