08/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is expected to give, on Wednesday, its agreement to the takeover of Elf-Aquitaine by TotalFina, say the European sources cited by AFP. The takeover commitments taken by the two groups (see EUROPE of 26 January, p.11) seem to raise risks of abuse of dominant position by the future fourth largest world oil company.
