GUE/NGL Group calls on European Commission to make a statement over oil slick in plenary next week

Brussels, 10/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Leader of the GUE/NGL Group, Francis Wurtz has written to EP President Nicole Fontaine asking her to include a European Commission Statement on the oil slick on the agenda of the next European Parliament plenary session, in Strasbourg next week. In his letter, he stipulates that this Statement should have to include both measures for the victims and draft legislation enabling, as far as possible, such disasters being prevented in future.
