23/06/26 (Agence Europe) – The European Union and Tajikistan held their 12th annual Cooperation Committee on Friday 19 June, according to a statement published on Monday 22 June by the European External Action Service (EEAS). The meeting helped prepare for the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, scheduled for this year. The delegations also discussed trade relations, human rights, investments linked to the Global Gateway programme, environmental concerns, as well as current geopolitical challenges, notably Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. The EU reaffirmed its continued support for Tajikistan’s stability and socio-economic reform efforts, both bilaterally and regionally. (JM)
