Next EU-UK Summit to take place in Brussels on 22 July

16/06/2026 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 16 June following a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 in Évian, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European Council President António Costa announced that a new EU-UK Summit will be held in Brussels on 22 July. It will be the second summit of its kind since relations between the two sides were revived in early 2025, a process that was set out clearly on 19 May 2025 in London. “Close EU–UK cooperation is essential for our shared European security, resilience, and prosperity. We are working closely together to make our upcoming second Summit in Brussels on 22 July a success”, the President of the European Council said on X. The two sides are currently negotiating agreements on facilitating agri-food trade, energy, and on the mobility of young workers. London would like to deepen other forms of cooperation and access to the single market. (SP)
