Six candidates officially in running to succeed Emily O’Reilly

09/10/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 9 October, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, announced the six candidates who had collected enough signatures from MEPs to officially stand for the post of European Ombudsman (see EUROPE B13492A7). They are Teresa Anjinho (Portuguese), Emilio De Capitani and Marino Fardelli (both Italian), Julia Laffranque (Latvian), Claudia Mahler (Austrian) and Reinier van Zutphen (Dutch).
