EU expects ICC arrest warrants after “large-scale violations of human rights” reported by UN

On Monday 9 September, the European Union welcomed the report published by the United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission for the Sudan, which condemns the direct targeting of civilians and documents “large-scale violations of human rights” by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their affiliated militias. The EU expects the International Criminal Court (ICC) to “issue arrest warrants shortly”.
