Cuts to 2025 budget sought by EU Council are too deep, according to MEPs and European Commission

At its meeting on Wednesday 4 September, the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets (BUDG) debated the 2025 draft budget plan drawn up by the European Commission and the position of the Council of the EU, adopted by Coreper on 17 July 2024 (see EUROPE B13455A8).
