The European Commission announced, on Monday 5 February, that it had authorised, in particular under the 2022 guidelines on State aid for climate, environmental protection and energy, a Polish scheme with a budget of €300 million to provide financial support for workers who will lose their jobs as a result of the closure of coal- or lignite-fired power plants and lignite mines.
