On Thursday 11 January, the Energy Storage Coalition emphasised the need for the National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) to tackle the persistent barriers to energy storage.
According to the coalition, the EU needs to double its energy storage capacity if it is to meet its climate targets by 2030, and it wants to encourage Member States to take greater account of storage in the final version of their NECP, due in June 2024.
