European Commission approves a protected designation of origin for Turkey

08/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 September, the European Commission announced that it had registered ‘Milas Yağlı Zeytini’ olives produced in Turkey in the EU Register of protected designations of origin (PDO). The PDO ‘Milas Yağlı Zeytini’ refers to the table olives of the Memecik variety grown in the province of Milas, fermented in brine and preserved with olive oil and slices of fresh lemon.
