European Parliament denounces Maduro regime’s interference in electoral process

The European Parliament “strongly condemns the arbitrary and unconstitutional decision” by the Maduro regime to prevent political opponents such as María Corina Machado (see EUROPE B13214A21), Leopoldo López, Henrique Capriles and Freddy Superlano from standing in the 2024 presidential elections, in a resolution adopted on Thursday 13 July (495 votes in favour, 25 against and 43 abstentions).
