The European Parliament’s Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO) approved, on Monday evening 12 June, (15 votes in favour, 8 against, 5 abstentions) the proposal by co-rapporteurs Sandro Gozi (Renew Europe, Italian) and Loránt Vincze (EPP, Romanian) to increase the number of seats in the Chamber from 705 to 716 for the 2024-29 legislature (see EUROPE B13198A18).
